How many days will my ad budget last?

Days remaining = (monthly budget − daily spend × days passed) ÷ daily spend, rounded down. The tool asks for three numbers: monthly ad budget, current average daily spend and days passed this month (prefilled with today's date). Amount spent so far is estimated as daily spend × days passed, not pulled from your ad account. Days remaining never goes below 0, and the projected burn date is today plus the days remaining.

Example: a $10,000 monthly budget, $400 average daily spend and 15 days into the month. Estimated spend so far is $6,000, leaving $4,000, so days remaining = 4,000 ÷ 400 = 10 days. Both the budget and daily spend must be greater than 0 before the tool will calculate. Weekly spend on the results screen is daily spend × 7, which is $2,800 in this example.

How are the three burn-rate levels decided?

The level depends on budget utilization: daily spend × 30 days ÷ monthly budget × 100. The tool's built-in thresholds are above 130% for "budget about to run out", above 105% for "burning a bit fast", and anything else for "budget safe". Every month is treated as 30 days.

Continuing the example: projected monthly spend = 400 × 30 = $12,000, utilization is 120%, which lands in "burning a bit fast", and overspend = 12,000 − 10,000 = $2,000. Overspend is shown whenever projected spend exceeds the budget, so between 100% and 105% utilization you can see "budget safe" alongside a small overspend.

For any level other than safe, the tool lists three control tips: set a daily budget cap, pause weak campaigns, and consider shifting spend to lower-cost platforms.

FAQ

What is the formula for days remaining?
Days remaining = (monthly budget − daily spend × days passed) ÷ daily spend, rounded down with a minimum of 0. With a $10,000 budget, $400 a day and 15 days passed, 10 days remain.
At what utilization does the tool warn me?
Under the tool's built-in thresholds, projected monthly spend above 130% of budget is marked as about to run out, and above 105% is marked as burning a bit fast.
Does the tool read my actual spend from the ad account?
No. It estimates spend so far as daily spend × days passed this month, so if your spend swung a lot earlier in the month the result will differ from your account.
Why can it say "budget safe" and still show an overspend?
The level only changes above 105% utilization, but overspend appears as soon as daily spend × 30 exceeds the budget. Between 100% and 105%, both show at once.
Does the calculator account for 28- or 31-day months?
No. Projected monthly spend is always daily spend × 30 days, so adjust by hand for shorter or longer months.
